In Basingstoke the local council's regeneration team identified the need for a playful way to bring quieter stretches of the pedestrianised shopping street to life, so got in touch with Play Build Play. We proposed the concept of a modular system of playable platforms which can be combined in different numbers and formations to suit different spaces along the highstreet.
Play Build Play worked with partners to develop the design and manufacture of the 'parkelts', delivering 12 units as new resource for council teams to temporarily deploy and introduce play spaces to the high street wherever and whenever they're needed! Each module offers multiple different ways to play and when joined together provides a highly visible, bold splash of colour and sense of possibility to any street location.
